ABOUT CHRIS

Chris Utgaard is the Founder and President of Pando Equity. With over 15 years of senior management experience in companies ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to the Fortune 100, Chris is a proven leader with the ability to take a company to the next level.

As Chief Operating Officer of Sportsman’s Warehouse, Chris installed the infrastructure necessary to rapidly grow the company from 11 stores to 67 locations nationwide. During the Great Recession, he restructured operations during the company’s reorganization allowing for subsequent growth and a successful initial public offering in 2014.

Chris received his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management. He holds a BA in Economics from Pomona College.

Chris currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a passionate skier and snowboarder

ABOUT PANDO

Pando (Latin for “I spread”) is a clonal colony of quaking aspens spread across more than 100 acres of the Fishlake National Forest in Utah. Also known as The Trembling Giant, this stand of aspens is one of the oldest and largest living organisms in the world. Quaking Aspen regularly reproduce by sending up new shoots from an expanding root system. What appears to be thousands of individual trees is in fact a single organism.
